🇺🇸On this Flag Day, the Saratoga Springs Lions honored several members, who are Veterans, at the Flag Day ceremonies at Galway Town Hall in partnership with Alliance180 .
At the end of the week, these Veterans will be receiving the flag that they were recognized with.
🇺🇸The club recognized Lions Robert Kazalski (pictured with his wife), Russ Terpening, Rich Euler, Brian Wagner & George Igler.

Monday, July 20 at Colonie Golf and Country Club for a day of golf, community, and impact at the Lions Eye Bank of the Northeast Annual "Eye Drive" Golf Tournament. ⛳🏌️‍♀️

Player registration is $140 and includes lunch, dinner, cocktail hour, and a golf cart for the duration of the tournament. The day begins with a 10:00 a.m. start, a grilled luncheon, a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m., and an evening cocktail hour and dinner buffet.

The Saratoga Springs Lions celebrated six amazing young women on Tuesday night, awarding $30,000 in scholarships, based on essays they sent in with the theme of "We Serve", not only highlighting their academic successes but also their willingness to give back.

🏆Daniella Fleming, received a $7,500 Scholarship and will be attending the University of Virginia before heading to medical school;
🏆Arissa Gillani, received a $7,500 Scholarship and will be attending Adelphi University before heading to medical school;
🏆Katharine Marrone, received a $5,000 Scholarship and will be attending the University at Albany to study forensic chemistry;
🏆Carina Schneider, received the $5,000 Leo Scholarship and will be attending Fordham University to study environmental law;
🏆Ava Otte, received a $2,500 Scholarship and will be attending R.P.I. to study aerospace engineering;
🏆Madison Finn, received a $2,500 Scholarship and will be attending the University of Tennessee to study international business.

We congratulation all of these well deserved recipients and wish them all the best for their futures!!

CONGRATULATIONS to Lion Gail A. Zurakowski Hessney on being awarded with a Knight of the Blind not only for all the work she’s done as the club’s vision chair, but the 40+ years she’s been working at the Northeastern Association of the Blind at Albany (NABA), a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive vision rehabilitation, training, and support services for people who are blind or visually impaired in the greater Capital Region!

In 1971, the Lions Clubs International Board of Directors established that June 1st would forever be recognized as Helen Keller Day.
