🎓Introducing the Shredders MTB College Scholarship!🚴‍♀️

For the first time, Shredders MTB is proud to offer a college scholarship recognizing graduating seniors who have made a meaningful impact in their communities.

This award honors riders who live our values - riding with gratitude and lifting others up.

Eligibility:
⭐️Graduating high school senior in New York State
⭐️Connection to mountain biking (NICA, Shredders, or similar)
⭐️Demonstrated community service and impact during high school
⭐️Planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college

There will be one $1,500 scholarship awarded in 2026. We hope to grow the scholarship fund in subsequent years!
We can’t wait to celebrate the next generation of leaders making a difference - on and off the bike 💛

Today is National Trails Day! We have 6 trailwork days coming up in the next couple of weeks so all kids in all Shredders regions can give back to the trails they ride! Fun for the whole family! We wouldn’t be able to enjoy this wonderful sport together if it weren’t for the amazing trails orgs that build and steward our local trails. Thank you!

Shredders! This Sunday there is a NICA NY race at Thacher Park! Come cheer on your friends and get a feeling for what NICA is all about - fun, friends, inclusivity, and a bit of racing! And feel free to introduce yourselves and your kids to the local NICA teams - everyone is very approachable! Hope to see you there!

Thank you so much for your support Saratoga County Children's Committee!! Because of you, more kids can attend Shredders MTB summer camp that wouldn’t otherwise be able to! 🫶🏻🚴‍♀️🫶🏻

Summer is almost upon us & that means camp! 🌞

Every summer, SCCC sponsors kids to attend local camps. We believe every child, regardless of socioeconomic standing, should be able to attend camp, as they are critical for developing friendships, fostering independence, unplugging from screens, and providing safe, structured fun throughout the summer!

This summer, we are excited to have provided scholarships for Camp Stomping Ground , Saratoga Regional YMCA, Saratoga Springs Recreation Dept, Saratoga Mentoring Program, and Shredders MTB! 🛝

Each year, this program grows thanks to community support and our annual fundraiser, Saratoga Mom Prom!

🔥 Hot Weather Practice Reminder 🔥
It’s going to be hot out there today - and beyond! Please come prepared so we can keep everyone safe and feeling good on the trails!

✅ Bring plenty of water (and consider electrolyte drinks like Gatorade)
✅ Wear light, breathable clothing
✅ Don’t forget sunscreen
✅ Cooling towels are great if you have them
✅ Take breaks as needed - listen to your body

Our priority is keeping everyone safe, hydrated, and having fun. Coaches will be building in extra breaks today to help manage the heat.

Shredders Shout-Out! We are incredibly grateful to the Rotary Club of Saratoga Springs for their generous major grant this year! Their support has allowed Shredders MTB to purchase a small fleet of bikes for kids to borrow throughout the season - removing a key barrier to participation and ensuring more kids can get out and ride. Thanks to this investment, Shredders now has more than THIRTY bikes available for loan, and just two weeks into the season, over 90% are already in use, clearly demonstrating the strong demand for access to free bikes. This support is already making a meaningful impact, and we sincerely thank the Rotary Club of Saratoga Springs for helping bring the joy of biking to more kids in our community!

Welcome to the Shredders family!!!
Orange County Shredders is the FIFTH region in New York to join the fun of Shredders MTB - they kicked off their MTB program last week with 5 kids (ages 4-11) and this week, we are launching a bikes in schools program at one of the local elementary schools thanks to a generous grant from Senator Skoufis! Once these kids are NICA age, they will ride with the local team !

In celebration of Mother’s Day, we are excited to announce that we will be offering 2 sessions of ‘Moms on Bikes’ - MOBs for short - this season! Free sessions while your kiddo is riding at Shredders - we will bring the bikes and helmets - you bring yourselves and your bravery to try something new! Check back for details!
