The Mediation toolβœ¨πŸ§˜πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Documented for over thousands of years, some say meditation is as old as humanity itself.🌍
While it takes some practice, meditation is far simpler than it is often perceived to be. The common misperception is that meditation is sitting down and emptying your mind. The mind is always going to move, and meditation observes that movement.

As an individual with an illness or disability, we often need help from others. It is important that our relationships are strong and healthy. But oftentimes our stress leads to behaviors that push away people we need most.

As loved ones of an individual with an illness or disability, we have our own challenges with relationships. Our stress may lead us to behave in ways that push others away. Also, we may feel shut out by the very people we’re trying to help. And while all we want to do is help, we’re at a loss for how to best do so.

4 week virtual retreat with Quana Madison on Creative Expression in Action: Using Art to Cultivate Self-Kindness and Compassion.

"Abstract expressionist painting nourishes my Inner Peace Gardens. This style helps me express deep emotions and ideas that are important to my healing, health and well-being.
It feels good to paint today. Sometimes my daily chronic pains and fatigue make it very difficult to create...or to do basic everyday tasks.
So I celebrate the moments when my body cooperates with my passion to paint.

The Arts has had a tremendous impact on supporting my mental health journey through out my entire life. Expressing myself an artist helps me cope with debilitating pains that I feel throughout my entire body 24/7. You can't see my pain but it's there.

Even when I smile, the pains are still there. Yet, when I get lost in time during my painting meditation----I experience bliss.
