💜 International Overdose Awareness Day | August 31

This year marks 25 years of International Overdose Awareness Day, with the theme “25 Years On. Still Needed.”

Twenty-five years later, the need for awareness, prevention, understanding, and action remains. Behind every overdose is a person, a family, a friend, and a community impacted.

At RISE, we know that mental health and substance use can be deeply connected. We believe everyone deserves to be met with dignity, compassion, understanding, and support.

Today, we remember those we've lost, stand with those whose lives have been impacted, and continue working toward a community where people feel supported in reaching out for help. 💜

💋 In tribute to the one and only Tim Curry.

Tim Curry’s unforgettable portrayal of Dr. Frank-N-Furter helped make The Rocky Horror Picture Show so much more than a movie.

For generations, Rocky has brought people together and created a community where individuality is celebrated, differences are embraced, and people are encouraged to show up authentically as themselves. Acceptance. Individuality. Belonging. Those values are also at the heart of RISE and a big part of why Rocky Horror became the centerpiece of our signature fundraising event.

As we prepare for our 5th Annual RISE Presents The Rocky Horror Picture Show this October, we’ll celebrate the incredible legacy Tim Curry leaves behind and the generations he inspired to embrace what makes them uniquely themselves.

🖤 Thank you, Tim, for the laughter, the fearlessness, the fishnets, and a message that still matters 50 years later.

🌱 Growing Community at SunRISE Retreat 🌱

Sometimes, small moments of calm and connection can make a meaningful difference. At SunRISE Retreat, our garden offers another way for guests to step outside, connect with nature, enjoy a shared activity, and experience a little calm during their stay.

SunRISE Retreat is an Intensive Crisis Residence (ICR) that provides 24-hour support in a welcoming, home-like setting for individuals experiencing an acute mental health crisis, helping them stabilize and prepare to return home or to their community.

And we have to give a little shoutout to our unexpected garden visitor 🐰, who clearly appreciates what we're growing too! 💙

🥎 Help Us Build Community Through Softball 🥎

We're still collecting new or gently used softball equipment to help launch a softball league for the individuals across our RISE programs—and we'd love your help!

This league is about more than softball. It's about creating opportunities for connection, teamwork, confidence, and belonging through the simple joy of playing together.

We're looking for:

🥎 Bats
🥎 Softballs
🥎 Helmets
🥎 Bases
🥎 Other softball equipment
