After Melissa’s release, she faced the same question so many women do: Where do I go now?

GALUP stepped in—with stability, opportunity, and continued care. Not just reentry. Real reintegration.

Your donation helps women like Melissa build a future they can stand on.

Melissa was recently released from prison.

What she didn’t leave behind? Her support system.

Through GALUP, Melissa found safe housing, guidance, and a community committed to her success—during work release and after leaving prison.

It takes $5,000–$10,000 to support one GALUP woman.
And when you give, the support doesn’t stop. Help us lift the next woman up.

An OG GALUP gal, Brandi gained so much from participating in the ‘s Second Chances program, followed by GALUP when she was released from prison.

As someone who has been around horses her entire life, this program and what it stood for was exactly what Brandi needed. And she didn’t just grow - she thrived.

Today, Brandi is doing extremely well and couldn’t be happier with her support system and her job. As GALUP continues to grow, we look forward to helping more women as extraordinary as Brandi is.

One woman. One second chance.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Lauren’s story is powerful because it reminds us that no life is defined by a single moment. Like many of us, her path includes challenges, difficult decisions, and the determination to move forward. The difference is that some setbacks come with consequences that change the course of a life.
But a past mistake should never erase the possibility of a meaningful future.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That future becomes possible with the right foundation—support, opportunity, and a community willing to stand beside someone as they rebuild.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While incarcerated, some women find purpose and healing through the Second Chances Program with Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, caring for retired racehorses and gaining valuable skills. When they leave prison, Giving A Leg Up (GALUP) steps in—offering continued guidance, resources, and a community that helps them navigate life after release.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because rebuilding a life takes more than determination. It takes people who believe in second chances.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When you donate to GALUP, you’re not just helping someone reenter society—you’re helping them stay supported, find stability, and move forward with confidence.
Fund the next woman’s journey today.
