We join our NCCA members today to earnestly celebrate our fathers, both past and present, who have shaped our lives and, perhaps, even led us on the road to salvation by taking us to church. Fathers may not always say much or hug much, but their love for us is often revealed in their dedicated hard work and commitment to our current well-being and future hope.

We deeply thank our fathers for the sacrifices they made so that we may have better opportunities in life than they did. We truly appreciate them for their strength of character and quiet forbearance, all the more because they don't seek attention or recognition for it.

The NCCA joins our members in recognizing the freedom we possess on this national holiday. Isaiah 61:1 prophetically outlines the mission of the Messiah. Luke 4:18 Jesus declares this very mission to be his “Divine Mission” to preach to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, and free the oppressed. We thank the Lord, who has unfettered our worldly chains by His grace and mercy. We pray for His continued strength and guidance as we serve Him.

"Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:" -James 1:19 KJV

It's been said that God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason: to listen more and speak less. These are wise words for anyone, but especially for us as Christian counselors who have a calling to listen, not only with our ears but with our hearts. We must also be intentional in listening to the Holy Spirit, who gives us counsel. Only then should we be willing to speak.

It is encouraging that God's word will always provide us with a plan that leads to success and avoids hostility.

On Mother's Day, we honor and remember our mothers, both past and present, for their constant care, boundless love, and perpetual prayers that helped make us who we are today.

We extol them for their many sleepless nights watching over us, their enduring kindness and gentle patience when we were hurt, their faithful guidance when we were lost, and their generous well of wisdom, which never seemed to run dry. For their diligence in praying over us to draw close to God and for His protection to cover us every day of our lives. We thank them for all these characteristics and more that so selflessly reflect our loving God.
