Young sweet potato leaves and shoots are edible and can be used as a leafy green. And unlike some of our cooler-season greens, sweet potatoes are right at home in Florida's summer heat.

We're back with Florida Summer Garden Trivia! The answer to yesterday's question is all of the above. Southern peas—which include black-eyed peas, crowder peas and cream peas—are probably a better choice than saying ""black beans"" specifically if we want the series to be locally accurate. UF/IFAS recommends southern peas for Florida summer gardens.
