Sarasota can help show Florida what belonging looks like.

In a new Sarasota Herald-Tribune guest column, Project Pride SRQ Executive Director Justyn Hunter-Ceruti shares a powerful reminder: progress isn’t built only at Pride festivals or in big public moments. It’s built every day—in our schools, workplaces, neighborhoods, businesses and the way we choose to show up for one another.

We believe Sarasota has the opportunity to lead with humanity, dignity and connection—and to build a community where LGBTQ+ people and families aren’t simply welcomed, but truly belong.

Because change doesn’t arrive from somewhere else. We build it together, and it can start right here.

We packed the house at Orenda Health & Wellness ♥️

Our latest Diversity in Business Network brought together an incredible group of professionals, business owners, community leaders, and allies for a morning filled with conversation, new connections, and plenty of community energy.

Seeing the room so full was a powerful reminder of just how important these spaces are. There is a real need for opportunities where people can connect, support one another, build relationships, and grow together.

A huge thank you to Orenda Health for opening their doors, welcoming our community, and helping us create such a wonderful morning.

And we’re keeping the momentum going! Our next Diversity in Business is an evening edition at Mellow Mushroom. Come connect, grab a slice, and meet even more of our incredible local community.

Project Pride SRQ is proud to team up with Senior Friendship Centers and CAN Community Health for Aging Proudly — a new wellness series created to support, empower, and connect LGBTQ+ older adults in our community.

Monthly conversations about health, HIV prevention and care, mental wellness, community resources, and thriving as we age—rooted in the experiences of LGBTQ+ older adults and open to everyone.

Thank you to Project Pride SRQ for bringing the August Diversity in Business Network to Orenda Health & Wellness.

We were grateful to welcome around 40 local business owners, community leaders, elected officials, and candidates into our space to connect, build relationships, and learn more about the work Orenda is doing to expand access to care in our community.

A special thank you to Starbucks at Midtown Plaza for helping sponsor the event and generously providing a door prize for one of our guests.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who joined us and showed their support. We loved having the opportunity to open our doors, share more about our mission, and connect with so many people who care about making Sarasota a healthier and more inclusive community.
