The Bluegrass Music Association of Maine invites you to become a member. FMI please visit our webpage www.mainebluegrass.org

Functions of the organization include the following:
*To educate the public about Bluegrass music, in order to foster an appreciation of its history and cultural heritage
*To further the enjoyment of Bluegrass music for ourselves and others through teaching, sharing, and playing acoustic stringed instruments
*To encourage participation in Bluegrass music events
*To support area musicians and bands

who play Bluegrass music
*To inform members about bluegrass related events taking place around the state
*To cooperate with other organizations to promote Bluegrass and related music
*To preserve the memories of those who have preceded us in this field of endeavor

We’re recovering from a wonderful weekend at The Crooked River Gathering. The 2nd Annual BMAM Band Contest on Thursday night was an absolute blast.

The night’s big winner was the Cumberland Union String Band! This Portland-based group has a great sound and put on an awesome show. We hope they’ll display their trophies proudly 😜

Thanks to our amazing sponsors, Bourgeois Guitars, Ear Trumpet Labs, and D'Addario and Co., who provided the coolest gear for our winning bands. Thanks also to the Crooked River folks and the Manic Mountain Boys for sharing their schedule and their stage.

Finally, huge thanks to all the bands that participated and the bluegrass fans that hooted and hollered all night!
