Founded: 2005 13th Street Cat Rescue is an all-volunteer animal rescue in San Jose, California. We are dedicated to improving the lives of homeless cats and controlling their population by the use of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). TNR is an internationally-recognized, humane and effective program for reducing the population of stray and feral cats. In the past three years alone, TNR has contributed to a 25% reduction in the number of cats and kittens entering our local shelters. Our volunteers work with local vets and animal shelters to trap, vaccinate, spay or neuter cats, then return the animals to where they were found. Kittens and cats that can be socialized are taken into foster care by our volunteers and then put up for adoption. All donations to 13th Street Cats help provide food, supplies, spay/neuter, and medical care for homeless cats. Double the trouble, double the cuddles! Meet Sophia & Bella! 🐾

These adorable 5-month-old foster sisters are the perfect mix of playful, goofy, and affectionate. They love chasing each other around, playing together, and curling up for cuddles when the fun is over.

Sophia is our tiny leopard in training! She loves stalking and pouncing on feather toys, strings, and anything that looks like prey. Her hunting skills are getting better every day, but her occasional clumsy pounces are still pretty hilarious! When bedtime comes, she's all about snuggling up on your chest or beside your neck.

Bella is our elegant little tuxedo princess with a goofy side! She loves racing after wand toys, showing off her zoomies, and purring the moment she gets attention. She's also quite the conversationalist — talk to her, and she'll talk right back!

These two make a wonderful duo and would love to find a home together! They can also be adopted separately to the right match. Whether they're chasing toys or cuddling up for a nap, Sophia and Bella bring so much love and personality to every day.

Meet Alita, a petite 2-year-old tabby with a HUGE heart. After spending the first two years of her life on the street caring for multiple litters of kittens, this sweet girl is finally getting to enjoy life as a pampered cat.

Alita may be shy at first, but once she feels safe, she blossoms into the most loving little companion. She LOVES pets and will happily stare you down until you give her some attention. Expect head bonks, sweet little love bites, and plenty of purrs!

She also absolutely loves other cats and enjoys following her foster brother around, learning from him and even playing a good game of chase.

Because Alita can startle easily, she’ll do best in a quiet home without younger children, with a cozy safe space where she can retreat while she gets comfortable.

This adorable 2-month-old black kitten is loving, playful, and ready to steal your heart!

Aura loves people and has a talent for turning just about anything into a toy. She especially loves her circle toy, balls, dangle toys, and climbing and exploring.

She could be happy as a solo kitten, but she’d also make a wonderful playmate for another kitty. And with her sweet personality and good manners, she’ll keep you laughing, entertained, and loved.

Meet the coffee trio! ☕️

Say hello to Mocha, Cappuccino & Espresso — three adorable 2-month-old tabby sisters who each have their own unique personality!

Cappuccino is the boldest of the bunch! She loves batting her spring toys around and making sure her humans get involved in the fun. Once playtime is over, she turns into a total cuddle bug with a purr motor that never quits.

Mocha is bold and knows exactly what she wants — your undivided attention! If someone else is getting cuddles, she’ll be right there to remind you it’s her turn. She loves playtime but is just as happy settling in for a cozy snuggle session with her favorite person.

Espresso is sweet, independent, and full of personality. She loves her meals, spring and wand toys, and will happily settle into your lap when it’s time for some affection. She may not be much of a jumper, but she has plenty of enthusiasm for ground-level play!

Three sisters, three personalities, and three very good reasons to fall in love.

Milo is one funny kitty! 🧡

Meet Milo, a handsome 1-year-old orange tabby with a BIG personality and an even bigger love for belly rubs.

This goofy boy loves to roll over for belly rubs, bounce around like a rubber ball, and soak up every bit of attention he can get. He’s affectionate, playful, gentle, and loves being around people.

Milo is still learning that being indoors is safe, so he’ll need a little time and patience as he adjusts. He would also love a safe yard where he can play and explore with his new family.

Meet Loki Loe! 🐾

This handsome 5-month-old orange & white tabby started out a little shy, but he has completely blossomed into a friendly, playful, and affectionate little guy!

Loki loves stuffed toys, mice, crinkle balls, and wand toys — and after playtime and some snacks, he’s ready for a cozy afternoon nap.

Loki can be adopted with his sister, Dosa Doe, or into a home with another cat. 🐱💕

Meet Bonnie! This beautiful 3-month-old calico has already been through quite a journey.

Bonnie was rescued from a demolition site in San Jose’s Little Portugal, where the noise and confusion left her understandably scared. Thankfully, she’s been blossoming beautifully and is no longer the little girl who hid away.

Now, Bonnie loves being held, purrs loudly when she gets pets and ear scratches, and has discovered how much fun toys can be! 🐾 She especially loves crinkly balls, enclosed ball toys, and feather wands.

Bonnie may need a little time to feel comfortable in a new home, so a quiet home and a patient family would be the perfect match for this sweet girl.

We had the purr-fect time hanging out with our dog friends (both human and pet) on Saturday! 🐾 Past adopters stopped by our booth to say hi and grab some catnip ci**rs, and we loved hearing all your wonderful cat tales (some of your kitties are 17 years old and still going strong!).

We also shared important info on TNR and low-cost clinics to help our community. It was a beautiful day representing 13th St Cats in the Naglee Park neighborhood! 🏡❤️ in the Park San Jose
