Another great weekend representing Spartan Racing at the Saratoga Car Show! 🏎️

We had an awesome time meeting fellow car enthusiasts, talking about Formula SAE, and sharing what goes into designing and building our race car. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, we enjoyed answering your questions and connecting with you all!

Formula SAE Michigan 2026 is in the books. We came in ready to compete, gave it everything we had, and came away with valuable results and even more valuable lessons. While this wasn’t the outcome we were aiming for, we’re proud of what our team accomplished and motivated to come back stronger.

A huge thank you to our sponsors, alumni, faculty, friends, and everyone who supported us throughout the season. Your support makes this journey possible. Here’s to building, learning, and coming back better next year.

Day 3 at Michigan is in the books.

We completed Preliminary Design Review, where our members presented and defended SR-17’s design decisions to industry judges, answering questions across all areas of the car. We also successfully passed M-Tech and EV Active, bringing us one step closer to completing static events and preparing for dynamic competition.

With two days remaining, SR-17 is fully qualified and ready to keep building momentum. We’re proud of the work the team has put in so far and excited to see what the rest of the week holds.

Day 2 at MIS and Spartan Racing is on a roll! We’ve successfully completed several events, leaving the judges impressed by the hard work and dedication the team has put in over the past few months.

So far, we’ve completed Accumulator Tech, Charger Tech, the Cost Scenario event, and SES, the first of the three major vehicle inspections. Even better, we’ve passed every inspection and technical check we’ve gone through on the first attempt, a testament to the team’s preparation and attention to detail.

With three more days remaining, we’re focused on maintaining this momentum and continuing to perform at our best as we work to further establish San José State University and Spartan Racing as one of the top Formula Student teams in the continental United States. 🏁⚡️

We had an exciting first day at MIS!

Spartan Racing introduces SR-17 to the paddock, bringing the competition to feel emotions of fear for the great things we were to accomplish. We set up our pit area and began working, doing final checks on the car before the inspections. We completed our TBP-SES, but before we could move to complete our other events, a raging thunderstorm hit, causing more all 94+ teams to take shelter.

Speaking of which, many of our members had the exciting opportunity to speak with FSAE members from across the country and even the world! They also had the opportunity to meet many sponsors who support the organization as a whole.

We look forward to next couple of days as we hope to further push the car to its limits and engage with the rest of the FSAE community.
