✨ The REAL Aroma Ice Café (אייס קפה) is coming to our Lawn Program!!! ✨

If you’ve ever strolled through Israel on a hot summer day, chances are you’ve seen someone walking around with an Aroma Ice Café in hand. Part frozen coffee drink, part dessert, and 100% iconic, Ice Café has become a beloved Israeli tradition and we are so excited to share it with you!

☕️Fun Fact: Aroma’s Ice Café has achieved almost cult status in Israel, with many travelers saying it’s one of the first things they get when they land at Ben Gurion Airport!

☕️Another Fun Fact: Unlike a typical iced coffee, Ice Café is blended into a creamy, frozen coffee treat that’s somewhere between a frappé, a milkshake, and pure happiness.

BREAKING NEWS: The City of San Diego will officially end paid parking in Balboa Park by the end of the year in a major agreement approved today by the City Council according to The San Diego Union-Tribune reporters Jeff McDonald and David Garrick reporting from City Hall.

“This is a great day for our city,” said City Councilmember Stephen Whitburn who represents the district including Balboa Park, downtown, and the LGBTQ community.

The agreement is a much needed reprieve for San Diego’s arts and culture community, especially in Balboa Park, facing the double punch of paid parking and Mayor Todd Gloria's gutting to $0 nearly $12 million of arts and culture funding grants.

Today’s decision reflects the strong public response from San Diegans who spoke out about our museums, arts, culture, and protecting access to one of our region’s most important public cultural spaces.

The deal also rolls back portions of the City’s controversial trash fee increases for single-family homeowners and settles ongoing litigation surrounding the program.

HOI first opened our doors in August 1948, and this year we’re celebrating 78 years of community, culture, and connection Tel Aviv style!

From Shuk HaCarmel vibes to Shesh Besh, Matkot, Israeli music, sunshine, and the incomparable energy of a TLV summer, we’re bringing it all to Balboa Park and we can't wait to celebrate with you on August 2nd!

No wristbands, no overpriced tickets… just the thrill of scoring a FREE Israeli cherry tomato plant which people drive far and wide for!

These babies go FAST every year, so it’s first come, first served… and when they’re gone, they’re gone (no encore, no restock, no VIP section 😅).

🇮🇱 Also, fun fact : Israel gave the world the cherry tomato AND drip irrigation… so technically you’re attending a very niche, very delicious Israeli innovation party!
