A message from DAC Leadership

The DAC is a safe place for artists with dwarfism to be apart of a community where we can grow, live and thrive together!!! We are working on building a community where people of all ages that are either interested in the arts and/or are already in the industry can share and create together. This coalition shall be a true home for artists of all kinds - so we can lea

Adult improv workshop on Wednesday, July 15th in the Barty Lounge @ 11 AM - 12 PM

This workshop is designed for adults who want to dip their toes into the joyful chaos of improv comedy. Through fast-paced games inspired by Whose Line Is It Anyway? and the Smosh Pit YouTube channel, we’ll laugh, play, and experiment while building confidence, sharpening creativity, cultivating stage skills, and strengthening that all-important “Yes, And” muscle. No experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to play!

On Tuesday, July 13th @ 4pm in the Barty Lounge, DAC will be hosting our signature event, The Telephone Project!

The Telephone Project is a celebration of creativity and collaboration, spotlighting the talents of DAC members through a unique and inspiring event. This year, the works will honor one of Annie Danberg's original works, "PHOENIX RISING." We wanted to honor Annie, one of our coalition members who has been around since the beginning of the DAC. Honoring the artists that have paved the way and have made spaces like this for us.

Inspired by Annie's work, this year's Telephone Project takes her original piece "PHOENIX RISING," as its starting point, transforming it into a multi-disciplinary showcase. Artists will interpret and build upon one another's creations - spanning spoken word, dance, monologue, song, photography, painting, and more - just like the classic game os "Telephone." The result is a captivating live event full of suprises and artistic innovation.

Don't miss this one-of-a-kind experience that honors one of the DAC's original members who has given us so much of her creativity, wisdom, and constant mentorship throughout the years.

Introducing Ben Saylor (He/Him/His), one of DAC's newest Co-Chairs and Facilitators!

Ben has been a member of LPA since birth (thanks, Mom!) and part of the DAC community since 2018. Since joining, he’s been deeply involved with DAC’s Telephone project and is always excited to collaborate on new creative work.

Outside of DAC, Ben works with Tellin’ Tales Theatre in Chicago, Illinois, where he helps bridge the disabled and non-disabled worlds through powerful storytelling. He’s also a singer-songwriter whose rhymes and storytelling through song are truly something to be marveled.

Ben is thrilled to help host new DAC events and create even more opportunities for artists to tell their stories through art.
