Our mission is to provide services and equipment for children in Southeast Asian countries who are underprivileged by virtue of physical or mental disability, poverty or absence of family. AHAC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization performing charity programs in Southeast Asian countries, particularly Vietnam, Laos, and more recently Cambodia and Myanmar. These programs include assisting children

with impaired hearing parenthesis providing hearing aids), scholarships to keep children in school, bicycles and bridges to facilitate attending school, water wells and water disinfectant bags to provide potable water, and many other projects where needed.

Note to anyone following or searching for AHAC (Americans Helping Asian Children), our wonderful organization which operated from 1993 until November, 2024, has ceased operation and our Foundation has formerly elected to dissolve. It was indeed a great run. Hundreds of volunteers from all over the United States, Vietnam, Korea, Cambodia raised funds and worked tirelessly on mission trips 1-3 times every year, bringing better lives to thousands of disenfranchised children in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and even Myanmar. Our work is continuing through several other similar organizations.

Our most wonderful friend, Dr. Khoa Nguyen, without whom Americans Helping Asian Children would not have been able to do anywhere near as much as we have, passed away from cancer at the age of 58 this past Monday. As many of his friends and family as could, gathered for a memory sharing time via Zoom 2 nights ago. For any who missed it, here's the link to the recording of it:

Zoom is the leader in modern enterprise video communications, with an easy, reliable cloud platform for video and audio conferencing, chat, and webinars across mobile, desktop, and room systems. It is with great sadness that I announce to those of you who may not yet have heard , Bill Dolan passed away last Friday after suffering a fall in his home. Bill was my best friend since we met 45 years ago, and he was the person who introduced me to Vietnam back in 1991, where we saw so much need for help. Together with Trieu Bang we founded Americans Helping Asian Children. Without Bill, AHAC would never have existed. It has been the greatest pleasure of my life to see AHAC accomplish all the great things that we have done in Vietnam, and later in Laos and more recently, Cambodia. He will be dearly missed.
