“How do you continue to trust God when His plan hurts?”

In this video, Tony Villafane shares a small part of Tori's story—a story marked by deep loss, unwavering faith, and God's faithfulness through it all.

The full story is now on our blog. It doesn't offer easy answers, but it is a powerful reminder that even when life unfolds differently than we hoped, God remains present, faithful, and sovereign.

If you or your students walking through grief, disappointment, or unanswered questions, this story is for you. ❤️ nnym.org/blog

When we pray for the people we love, we hope for a beautiful “yes.”

For a year, four high school friends prayed for Tori Hernandez to know Jesus. They invited, encouraged, and trusted God to work in her heart. On July 10, 2014, on a camp lobby floor, they watched God answer that prayer as Tori surrendered her life to Christ.

But just 151 days later, Tori died after a rapid battle with Lupus.

The same friends who celebrated her salvation now faced grief, confusion, and questions they never expected to ask.

Why save her only to take her?
Why answer one prayer and not another?

Nearly twelve years later, Hannah, Katelyn, and Molly reflect honestly on their uninvited journey of grief and what they learned about prayer, suffering, and trusting a God who remains good—even when His plan is not what we hoped for.

Read “The Prayer God Answered” and discover how one young woman’s life continues to point others to Jesus.

NETWORK HIGHLIGHT 🌴 Sebastian, FL

What happens when youth leaders gather with a shared heart for students? Something special.

That’s what we see in our Sebastian, FL network. These leaders aren’t just gathering to talk about youth ministry. They’re connecting, collaborating, sharing ideas, and encouraging one another as they work together to reach the next generation.

We love seeing leaders choose to do ministry better together. And we love getting a glimpse of what God is doing through networks like this one!

Is your network gathering this fall? 📸 DM us a picture! We’d love to hear your story and highlight your network.

Take the challenge! 🙏🏫

Be part of our Symphony of Prayer by joining Moms in Prayer's Bless Your School Sunday initiative.

Here's your challenge:
✅ Pick one Sunday between now and the end of September.
✅ Invite your students, church leaders, or your entire church to join you.
✅ Set aside intentional time to pray during a morning service, in small groups, or anywhere your church gathers.

Lift up the schools in your community. Then encourage people to continue praying throughout the academic year.

One Sunday. One church. One community covered in prayer. Will you take the challenge?

Last week, we encouraged youth leaders to pray. 🙏 Now, we want to encourage them to invite their students into a life of prayer, too.

Maybe some students joined their leaders for Footprints on Campus. But if they didn’t, it’s not too late to give them a simple next step.

Challenge students to gather with a few Christian friends at the end of lunch one day each week and spend just 5 minutes praying for their school, teachers, classmates, and campus.

It doesn’t have to be complicated. It just takes a few students who are willing to pause, pray, and ask God to move in their school.

God shows up when we pray. Let’s encourage students to discover that for themselves. 🙌

Youth Leader, are you praying with expectation?

Do you pray hoping God will answer... or expecting Him to?

God hears the prayers of His people. So what would it look like to pray boldly for your students, your school, and your community—and truly expect Him to move?

Challenge: Write down one bold prayer for your campus this week and pray it with expectation. 🙌

"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine..." — Ephesians 3:20

Thank you to everyone who stepped onto a campus to pray. 🙏

Your footsteps may be done, but your prayers don’t have to end.

As the school year begins, keep lifting up the campus you prayer walked. Pray for students to encounter Jesus, for staff to have wisdom and strength, and for God to move in powerful ways throughout the year.

🙏 Never underestimate what God can do through simple, persistent prayer.

A simple prayer can become the beginning of something far greater than we ever imagined. God is at work, and every prayer matters.

Sometimes the most powerful God stories begin with simple prayers.

“During Footprints on Campus, a group of us prayed over schools and students across our community. At the exact same time we were praying for one former student serving on a campus, she was sharing the Gospel over coffee with another student wrestling with faith.”

What a reminder that while we pray, God is already moving. 🙏
