We're so excited to welcome Jen LaBarbera back home as our Interim Executive Director!

Jen isn't new to Lambda; they served as our Head Archivist before going on to lead at San Diego Pride and Creating Change/National LGBTQ Task Force. Now, they're back to help guide us through this transition with the steady hand and deep community roots we know and trust.

Paraphrasing Jen's words: "At the risk of sounding overly sentimental, returning to Lambda Archives really does feel like coming home."

PFLAG San Diego County was thrilled to participate in Family Night at Diversionary Theatre on Saturday, August 29. We had a chance to table, speak about the services that PFLAG SDC offers to our community, and then enjoy the Ni Mi Madre show written and performed by Arturo Luiz Soria.

BREAKING: A federal judge has reaffirmed that Texas Senate Bill 12 is unconstitutional, permanently blocking enforcement of the law targeting drag performances. The ruling finds the law violates the First Amendment by sweeping too broadly and threatening constitutionally protected expression

WNBA Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink spoke out about the discussion surrounding transgender athletes, saying: “When it comes to the trans issues, I think it’s a non-issue, and I think it’s people trying to just come for the trans community, and I just don’t stand for that. I think taking something that’s a non-issue right now and trying to use it for clickbait, for views, for likes, and then targeting a vulnerable community is just really low.”

PFLAG San Diego County is partnering with Diversionary Theatre for a special Family Night showing this Saturday evening, August 29. An Obie Award-winning show, Ni Mi Madre is about an over-the-top Brazilian mom navigating the complexities of raising her q***r son in the confusing American culture. It is a hilarious, sharp, and deeply human celebration of q***r Latine survival and identity.

We will be hosting a PFLAG SDC information table at the event, beginning at 6:00 pm.
