That progress is real, but so is this: the community is facing a serious and growing wave of hate, harassment and extremism. ADL has stood alongside the LGBTQ+ community for years, and that commitment remains as strong as ever. 🌈

Last night brought us hope. In a time of rising antisemitism and extremism, we gathered to honor three non-Jewish partners who've shown us what courage looks like.

Commissioner Nicole Murray-Ramirez, Al Abdallah CEO of the Urban League of San Diego County and Rev. Easterbrooks of the The Roman Catholic Diocese of SAN DIEGO received ADL San Diego's inaugural Allyship Award for their stand against antisemitism.

Their message was clear: we must build stronger coalitions across our diverse communities. We cannot fight antisemitism and hate in isolation. Commissioner Murray Ramirez said it best: "It was my moral responsibility to speak out and stand with the Jewish community."

To our honorees: thank you for your leadership, your partnership and your courage. The Jewish community is safer because of you.

ADL's Center on Extremism reviewed the manifestos of the two teenagers who killed three people at the Islamic Center of San Diego on May 18. Their writings reveal a chilling blueprint of hate: white supremacist accelerationism, virulent Islamophobia and antisemitism, and calls for copycat attacks.
