WTS San Diego The chapter was officially chartered in August 1993 with 31 members Advancing women in transportation is key to transforming the transportation industry.

Our guiding principles include:

WTS is an international organization dedicated to the advancement of women in transportation. A strong international organization enables members, chapters and communities within WTS to achieve our shared vision. WTS can shape future generations of transportation leaders. 💚Our next Undergraduate scholarship winner is Izzy de Fontaine! 🎓She is a third year Structural Engineering student at UC San Diego with a passion for transportation infrastructure.

💚Her interests include bridge engineering, structural health monitoring, and airport design. She is particularly drawn to the challenges of improving systems to make them safer, more efficient and more resilient. Through engineering and leadership, Izzy hopes to contribute to infrastructures that better serves communities that rely on it.

❤️San Diego State University! Our first Undergraduate scholarship is awarded to Bianca Hana! Bianca is pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering at San Diego State University and is excited to design infrastructure systems that supports our local communities.

❤️Today, she has an internship with Dokken Engineering where she is gaining hands-on experience that will serve as the building blocks to a successful career in transportation engineering.

💙El Cajon Valley High School- We are excited to award this year’s High School scholarship to Savreen Shorees! Savreen was an El Cajon Valley High School student, Class of 2026.

Throughout high school, she challenged herself with rigorous coursework, including AP and college-level classes, while being involved in her community as president of her school’s LEO and AVID Clubs. Today, she is pursuing Mechanical Engineering so she can use her passion for problem-solving and innovation to improve transportation systems and make meaningful impact on the communities she serves.
