Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 San Diego Construction Hike for Hope at Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve. Together, we honored loved ones, shared stories, supported one another, and took meaningful steps to raise awareness for su***de prevention.

Every conversation, every mile, and every person who showed up helped remind others that they are not alone.

A special thank you to our volunteers, sponsors, team captains, and participants who made this event possible. We are grateful to be building a stronger, more connected construction community—one that is willing to talk openly about mental health and support one another.

In 2024, su***de-related deaths were four times higher among males than females. This , let’s remember that seeking help is a sign of strength. By supporting one another, fighting su***de, and challenging stigma, we can build a future where no one suffers alone. 💙

As the largest private funder of su***de research, the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention (AFSP) uses this annual data to better understand the impact of su***de across populations and strengthen su***de prevention education, research, and advocacy efforts.

According to the new data from CDC WISQARS™, after increasing for two decades, the su***de rate has remained relatively stable since 2019, with only small fluctuations.
