Access to outdoor spaces became safer and more consistent even during the hottest days.

At San Pasqual High School, rolling shade structures were introduced to provide coverage for student-athletes and community members using the school’s athletic facilities.

From soccer and track to tennis and basketball, these structures helped make outdoor activities more accessible, especially during warmer months. With more comfortable conditions, the school anticipated stronger and more consistent use of these spaces, which already served thousands annually.

This project is a simple but meaningful improvement that supported health, participation, and community use.

Outdoor spaces became even more meaningful places for learning and connection.

The Escondido Community Child Development Center enhanced its preschool environment with new benches and a gazebo—creating a safer, more welcoming outdoor space for children, families, and educators.

Serving local families for over 50 years, ECCDC continued to provide early childhood education for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, including children with diverse developmental needs. These improvements supported daily learning, play, and connection for over 100 children and their families.

With support from the Escondido Community Foundation, this space became a place where children could explore, grow, and feel supported.
