To celebrate World Water Day, the San Diego Chapter of Water For People hosted a 3+ mile walk along the beautiful Mission Bay! We had a great time visiting with each other and being grateful for the opportunity to make a difference by providing sustainable water to nine developing countries. Approximately 1.8 billion people around the globe use or work in healthcare facilities without basic water services. This was the case for nurse Maria Elena in her community's health clinic in Guatemala. Today, she can wash her hands at the new handwashing and bathroom facilities built by Water For People. The health center where she works can provide service and maintain a hygienic environment for all patients.
