Thank you to everyone who attended today to voice your concerns about the timing of this budget hearing. Holding it at 1:30 PM on a Wednesday afternoon is not accessible for the entire community.

You highlighted the need for improved processes and increased funding for housing and development departments in our city. There was also a focus on the continued investment in our parks, specifically the pickleball project at Perris Hill Park.

Thank you to those who emphasized the importance of allocating funds towards arts and culture, particularly for the designation of the E Street Corridor.

We also appreciate those who could not attend in person but took the time to submit their concerns via email. The next step is to come together to follow up on our requests and gain a deeper understanding of our budget. We discussed several important points at today’s hearing.

The budget will be adopted by the end of June. We aim to ensure it includes significant investment in community development. We will keep in touch, and I encourage you to email to get involved.

At the recent SB City Arts Advocacy Community meeting, we discussed several important steps to advance the creative community and develop economic solutions that support a sustainable ecosystem for creatives in our city.

Here are the key points from the meeting:
- We reviewed the outcomes of our February meeting and discussed a list of five priorities that you helped identify.
- We outlined three specific requests based on these priorities and explored how we can collectively work to achieve them.
- We shared a calendar of important dates related to civic engagement throughout the city and related to arts advocacy.
- You suggested that we add three solutions to our requests for city council to help the city recognize potential opportunities.
- You also provided feedback on essential aspects of our requests, emphasizing the need to develop content that highlights both the potential and the necessity of these initiatives.

The meeting was very productive, and we are grateful for your participation. If you are interested in contributing to the growth of the local creative economy, please contact us. Join us in our efforts to uplift our city and work towards a better future.

We will soon post details from the meeting on our website, including links to all the information discussed. These efforts are community-led, and we appreciate your time and involvement. Thank you for your continued support. We value and appreciate you!

T’was a powerful night, our community strongly opposed what would have been a significant power grab by some members of our city council. We are grateful to the council members who stood firm and listened to the people. ✊ Thank you for doing your job and amplifying our voices. This includes Mayor Helen Tran who used her power to veto the motion. Thank you for your advocacy, leadership and hard work to move San Bernardino forward.

It was beautiful to see that people from all generations in our community, from students to the working class to the elderly, united for a single cause - our right to vote and participate in democracy. Tonight our voices were heard and we shall continue to work together to lift our city!

To the council members who voted in favor of this motion, open your ears and listen to “public” comments. Tonight, the overwhelming majority DID NOT support this proposed agenda item. By still pushing the motion forward, you have truly failed the residents and have lost the trust of the people.

We demand that you do your job and serve the public interest, not personal or outside interests. Learn from tonight and listen to the people!
