Did you know? Maintaining meaningful contact between children and their incarcerated parents can help reduce the harm caused by separation, trauma, and stigma.

At The Place4Grace, we believe children deserve connection, healing, and honest support as they navigate the impact of parental incarceration. Family bonds matter — and when nurtured with care, they can become a powerful source of resilience.

Through our programs, we work to create safe, supportive opportunities for children and families to stay connected, heal together, and remember that they are not alone.

Nearly a decade ago, youth from The Place4Grace and our partner organizations joined with Google to record love letters to their incarcerated fathers for Father’s Day.

Their words were filled with love, pain, hope, and courage.

We also want to give a heartfelt shoutout to Eboni Underwood, founder of We Got Us Now and daughter of Bill Underwood, along with Michael Skolnik of The Soze Agency, who helped direct and produce this powerful piece. They were among the very first people to provide a platform for our youth to use their voices, tell their truth, and remind the world that children impacted by incarceration deserve to be seen, heard, and supported.

Today, many of those youth have grown into powerful young adults who are impacting their families, communities, and the world around them.

Their stories remind us of something we have always known at Place4Grace: children need connection. Fathers need connection. Families impacted by incarceration deserve opportunities to stay bonded, heal, and be seen.

A prison sentence should never erase a child’s love for their parent.

This Father’s Day, we honor those brave young voices — then and now — and continue our commitment to keeping families connected.

For more than 16 years, The Place4Grace has had the honor of walking alongside children, incarcerated parents, and families impacted by incarceration.

Since 2009, our team has operated programs in 17 CDCR prisons, building trusted relationships through consistency, care, and deep commitment to family healing.

This work was not created overnight. It was built through lived experience, sacrifice, partnership, and the belief that children deserve meaningful connection with their parents.

We are proud of our history, our integrity, and the families who continue to make this work sacred.

This week, The Place4Grace was honored to stand alongside TPW and other community-based organizations at Lobby Day in support of the RIGHT Grant.

Together, we lifted up the importance of investing in trusted CBOs that provide meaningful in-prison programming, healing spaces, family connection, and reentry support for people who are incarcerated.

The RIGHT Grant helps make this work possible — especially for organizations rooted in lived experience, community care, and long-term transformation.

We are grateful to be in coalition with powerful leaders and organizations committed to dignity, rehabilitation, and real pathways home.

When community-based organizations are resourced, families heal and communities grow stronger.

We are thrilled to share that The Place4Grace has been selected to present at the inaugural 2026 Western Region Reentry Summit in Reno, Nevada!

Our presentation, Home2Stay: A Gate-to-Community Framework for Lasting Reintegration, was chosen from more than 100 submissions from across the country, and we are deeply honored to be part of this important gathering.

Most of all, we want to lift up our incredible team. This work is not carried by one person — it is built through the lived experience, wisdom, heart, and commitment of people who show up every day for individuals and families impacted by incarceration.

We are excited to represent our community, share what we are learning, and continue building solutions that support healing, family connection, and lasting reentry.

Let’s Go! 💪🏽🫶🏾✊🏾

Happy Mother’s Day to the Moms of Camp Grace at CCWF 💖

Today, we pause to honor the mothers and grandmothers at the California Correctional Women’s Facility in Chowchilla — women whose love stretches far beyond prison walls, across miles, through phone calls, letters, memories, prayers, and dreams of home.

To every mother who carries the ache of being separated from her children, and to every grandmother longing to hold her family close: we see you. We honor you. We know that incarceration does not erase motherhood. It does not erase love. It does not erase the sacred bond between a mother and her child.

At Camp Grace, we have witnessed the beauty, strength, laughter, tears, courage, and deep love that live inside these family connections. We have seen children light up in the presence of their mothers. We have seen mothers pour every ounce of love they have into moments that are never long enough.

This Mother’s Day, we send blessings to every mother inside CCWF. May you feel remembered. May you feel uplifted. May you feel the love of your children and families surrounding you, even from a distance.

We pray for healing.
We pray for reconciliation.
We pray for freedom.
We pray for every family impacted by incarceration to be restored, reunited, and wrapped in grace.

Happy Mother’s Day to the mothers, grandmothers, aunties, and caregivers of Camp Grace. You are loved. You are not forgotten. Your motherhood matters.

With Love and Grace,
The Place4Grace

🌿🌲✨Reflect, Restore, and Recharge✨🌲🌿

The recent TPW Directors and Decision-makers retreat at the beautiful Big Bear Retreat Center was a transformative experience! Over three nights and four days, we built camaraderie in nature, reflecting on our journey and shaping our future.

Together, we built on shared ideas and crafted actionable plans to drive mission forward. The time spent connecting, restoring, and recharging was much needed and has left us inspired.

We are so grateful to the team and every organizational leader that leaned in. 🫶🏾🥰🪾🥁🍃🔥
