Juneteenth, short for “June Nineteenth,” marks the day when federal soldiers finally arrived in Texas, to ensure that all enslaved people be freed. The troops’ arrival came a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. The day did not become a federal holiday until 2021, and still is not fully recognized by every state.

There are many events you can attend on Juneteenth, but supporting local organizations can make a longstanding impact beyond the single day observations.

The Bingo Fundraiser, hosted by Hamburger Mary's Ontario is BACK ON! Join us on July 16th at 6:30PM (seating opens at 5PM) for Drag Bingo. Proceeds for this event will go towards helping us bring you the best services we can offer

Raising kids is no easy feat, and raising rainbow community kids brings a whole new prism of challenges. Raising the Rainbow is a virtual parent/caregiver group that will discuss topics like: how to advocate for your child’s rights, navigating the healthcare system, the general challenges of raising a rainbow child, and much more. In addition to informative presentations and resources, the group provides a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for parents to share their concerns, celebrations, joys, and fears. We look forward to meeting you and learning more about your journey!
