That’s a wrap on another Minnesota State Fair! 🎡💚

Thank you to our volunteers who truly showed what “all are welcome at the table” means. 💚

And thank you to everyone who loved our food, welcoming space, and especially that lemon meringue pie! 🥧❤️

A special thank you to our partners in the kitchen and in the community: Ginkgo Coffeehouse St. Paul, Alison Kirwin , La Michoacana Rose , and Emma Norton Services We’re so grateful for all you bring to our table!

We can’t wait to see what our 130th year brings. See you next year! 🎡

This family attended ALL 12 days at the Fair—and each one began with breakfast with us! 🥞🎡❤️

I’ve been told the littlest one raises her hands like this whenever we say, “State Fair! Yay!” 🙌🥹

We’re so glad we could be part of your fair tradition. Thanks for starting your mornings with us—see you next year! 💚

🥧 Thank you, Tom & Carol Perry, for making our Pie-fecta possible! Every night at 9pm, this amazing sibling duo is in the kitchen making pies for the next day at the fair using their mother’s secret pie recipe. ❤️ We’re so grateful for all the late nights and delicious pies!

☕️💚 Behind the scenes!

Meet Kathy, owner of Ginkgo Coffeehouse ! You can catch Kathy down the street at her Snelling Avenue location, but during the Fair, she’s here with us—teaching our baristas, sharing her coffee expertise, and keeping the coffee flowing all day long. ☕️

She’s a big reason we’re able to serve such delicious coffee to both our seated and to-go customers! Whether you’re settling in for breakfast or grabbing a cup for the Fair, Kathy helps make sure there’s always a great cup waiting for you. ❤️

Thank you, Kathy, for all you do to keep our coffee—and our Dining Hall—running! ☕️✨

Today, two customers came by the Dining Hall to celebrate their 59th wedding anniversary. ❤️

It’s easy to miss moments like this when you’re busy cooking up pancakes.

I spent much of the first two days of the Fair out front—pouring coffee, helping families, welcoming volunteers, and hearing stories from people who return year after year. Sometimes there’s no time for a photo or video. Just a quick conversation, a familiar face, or someone sharing a memory of coming here with their family.

No flashy camera. Just stories.

It reminded me that the Dining Hall is about so much more than food. It’s the people, the little acts of kindness, and the moments of connection around the table.

🥞 What was your favorite little moment from your shift? Tell us below!

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered so far this fair season. You’re creating moments that may never make it onto social media—but matter all the same. ❤️

Checkout a fun article about our Dining Hall written by committee member Sally Johnson!

After 129 years of service, the Hamline Dining Hall is one of two remaining church dining halls at the Minnesota State Fair. In this story from Hamline Church's Sally Johnson, take a glimpse inside the dining hall, including the love and hospitality poured out (and served up) by volunteers each day....
