June 20th marks World Refugee Day, honoring the resilience and strength of refugees worldwide. Since 1975, the International Institute of Minnesota has resettled over 26,000 refugees.
Refugee services are part of the important work we do at the Institute. Despite the challenges we have faced from this administration surrounding refugee resettlement, we will continue to stand with and support refugees who come to our state.
For World Refugee Day, we want to introduce the inspiring story of Alice. She spent 22 years in a refugee camp in Rwanda before being resettled by the Institute. Since then, Alice has accomplished so much. We are proud to see her growth and success since making Minnesota her home!
