Volunteer Barber Needed for Detox Program💈

The Dimock Center is looking for a licensed barber or cosmetologist to provide haircuts to patients in our Acute Treatment Services (ATS or detox) program on a monthly basis.

What you'd do:

Offer basic haircuts and grooming to people in the early stages of addiction recovery while creating a respectful, welcoming, and supportive experience.

What we're looking for:

A current Massachusetts barber or cosmetology license is required. You should be comfortable working with a diverse group of patients and bring a compassionate, patient, and professional approach. We're asking for one visit per month.

Astrid was a beloved longtime Road to Wellness volunteer and community heroine known for her strength, kindness, and unwavering dedication to others. To many, she was known as a true “wonder woman.”
Created in her memory, this award honors a volunteer who embodies the same spirit of service, compassion, and care that defined her life.

We're thrilled to share The Dimock Center's FY25 Annual Report! 🎉

In This Together: One Purpose, Many Hands is a celebration of the partnerships, people, and purpose that make our work possible—from ensuring no neighbor goes hungry to lacing up our sneakers for the 11th Annual Road to Wellness 5K.

This year's report highlights how we've worked alongside the Red Sox Foundation, Takeda, Boston Athletic Association, John Hancock, Stop & Shop, and so many other amazing partners to deliver whole-person care, fight food insecurity, and build a stronger, healthier community, together.
