Our first open house for Roxbury’s Meetinghouse was a success! We opened our doors and welcomed Roxbury residents to celebrate the restoration of one of Boston's most treasured historic landmarks. You can join us at our next open meeting house on August 18th. 2026 to explore the beautifully restored Meetinghouse, discover its rich history and enduring legacy, and experience how this remarkable space is being reimagined as a place for community, creativity, celebration, and connection. Learn how the Meetinghouse will continue to serve Roxbury and Greater Boston for generations to come.

Join us for the first in a 3-part series examining the history and tradition of revolutionary action in Boston. Together, we will rediscover the richness of American history through the stories of both famous and lesser-known innovators of revolutionary thought and action in the 18th century.

The evening will present a wide range of perspectives from our featured panelists:

Historian Thomas Plant on “Colonel George Middleton and The Bucks of America," a little-known story about African American contributions to the Revolutionary War.

Dr. Alexandria Russell on “Finding Phillis: Phillis Wheatley's Memorials in Boston & Beyond"

Dr. Aabid Allibhai reprising his timely and significant commissioned report on “Race & Slavery at the First Church in Roxbury.”
