METCO joined education leaders and policymakers at the State House for Education Access and Opportunity Day.

Together, we explored ways to expand access, advance equity, and create stronger opportunities for students across Massachusetts.

Our HBCU Experience Panel brought the METCO community together for an honest conversation about college, identity, career pathways, and the lasting impact of the HBCU experience—followed by a watch party for the A Different World reboot.

Thank you to our panelists Kimahri Testamark, Dr. Kandice Sumner, and Robyn Carroll Middleton, and to our moderator, Dr. Tia Lites, for sharing their experiences and wisdom.

2026 has been a winning year for METCO-and we’re just getting started!

We passed the torch to more than 200 seniors, listened and took action across our districts, created new pathways for students, strengthened alumni connections, celebrated 60 years, and brought thousands of community members together as One METCO.

Every milestone reflects the power of our students, families, alumni, educators, staff, districts, and partners working toward a shared vision.

This 60th year is not simply a celebration of legacy. It is an invitation to build the next era of access, belonging, excellence, and joy for METCO students and families.

Let’s dream bigger, reach higher, and go farther—together.
