- Common areas including a library, courtyards, and a meal preparation and dining area
- transportation to treatment
- the on-site resources of an American Cancer Society Quality of Life Center

In comfortable surroundings abutting Boston's famed Emerald Necklace network of parks, patients and caregivers can discuss their experiences, share stories, eat meals together, and draw strength from one another. For many, treatment at medical centers in Boston offers the greatest hope of beating their cancer. Volunteer and former guest of the Hope Lodge, Meegan Erving, hosted a bead bracelet-making class. We have wonderful volunteers who really help improve the experience for our guests.

Earlier in the week, IBM staff visited the Boston Hope Lodge and served a delicious taco dinner. They also provided guests with bags and lanyards as well as kind and inspiring notes from coworkers who couldn't make the visit.

Guests of the Boston Hope Lodge were able to take in a Boston Red Sox game, meet with mascot Tessie, and enjoy box seats thanks to the Gross Family.

On Wednesday, registered dietitian nutritionists from Community Servings hosted a cooking demonstration for guests at the Hope Lodge. They made no-bake energy balls. The recipe is included.

Yesterday, members of the healthcare community attended an event at the Hope Lodge to discuss Access to Care. A panel discussion was held, followed by a tour of the Lodge. Thank you to McKesson Corporation and Genentech for sponsoring the event.

Tuesdays have become "A Brighter Way" day, with volunteers Cristina and her Mom, Leanne, leading a fun and relaxing art program for the guests. We are so fortunate to have such dedicated volunteers.

On Sunday, April 19, longtime volunteer Helene Palmer and friends hosted a dinner featuring 7-layer taco dip, lasagna, and teriyaki chicken, along with a craft activity for guests at the lodge.
