Nine years apart 🎓

In 2017, Mikel graduated from our Teaching Kitchen with Class 33. Last month, his brother Roberto followed in his footsteps, graduating with Class 86.

It's especially meaningful to see two brothers complete our TK program and welcome Roberto into our growing community of graduates. 🙌

Pie Season is officially underway! 🥧

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the start of another pie season. We’re especially grateful to High Street Place for hosting us and helping us launch this year’s fundraiser.

There’s still time to become a volunteer pie seller, and getting started is easy. Simply share your seller page with friends, family, coworkers, and your community to help support Community Servings. There are no fundraising minimums.

Every pie sold helps provide medically tailored meals to individuals and families across Massachusetts experiencing critical and chronic illnesses.

At 28 weeks pregnant with her first child, Jules was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and referred to Community Servings.

Throughout her pregnancy and the postpartum months, Jules received meals designed to support her health while navigating the challenges of pregnancy and caring for a newborn.

Managing gestational diabetes meant closely monitoring everything she ate, but Jules shared that having medically tailored meals delivered each week made the process "ten times easier." Reflecting on her experience, she said, "I completely believe it now that food is medicine."

🍎🌽 Fresh, seasonal ingredients

This recent Medically Tailored Grocery (MTG) delivery showcased some of the best flavors of the season, featuring produce from Growing Places, a cherry tomato medley from Ward's Berry Farm, and tomato fennel soup from CommonWealth Kitchen.

MTG provides medically appropriate ingredients and recipes, developed and approved by our registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs), that empower clients living with chronic illnesses to prepare nourishing meals at home.

In FY26, our MTG program provided more than 521,000 meal equivalents, helping clients across Massachusetts access the nutrition they need to support their health and well-being.

A special thank you to Morrissey Market, our fulfillment partner for the program. 💚

As the mornings get a little crisper, we’re leaning into all the cozy fall flavors. 🍎🍂

This simple apple yogurt parfait is the perfect way to start the day. Toss fresh apple slices in cinnamon and layer them in as-is for a refreshing crunch, or cook them down on the stovetop for a soft, apple pie-inspired texture. Finish with your favorite Greek yogurt and a sprinkle of crunchy oats or granola for an easy breakfast that tastes like fall.

Ingredients:
2 apples
2 teaspoons honey
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch of salt
1/2 cup granola
1 cup yogurt
1/2 cup applesauce

Directions:
1- Drizzle honey and sprinkle cinnamon and salt over apples.
2- Layer granola, applesauce, apples, then yogurt.
3- Repeat with remaining ingredients.
