Today, PAARI's Zoe Grover presented at the New Jersey Prevention Network's Annual Peer Summit with Officer Joshua Herrmann of Somersworth Police Department NH, Jackie Thompson of PCO - Plymouth County Outreach and Detective Cecilia Cacciatore of East Bridgewater Police Department.
They presented "Sharing Insights: Peer and Police Collaboration", highlighting the importance of having peers with lived experience integrated into police departments. Together with law enforcement, peers can help to reduce stigma and increase positive outcomes for the community through post-overdose home visits, street outreach, and responding to overdose calls.
Thank you to the NJPN for having us, and to our co-presenters for their valuable insights into the importance of peer support services!
