We’re sharing a resource that may be helpful to youth, families, and the professionals who support them.

Alice’s Kids provides financial assistance for one specific need of a child in grades K–12. Requests must be submitted by a professional who works directly with the child, and assistance is generally provided through a store-specific gift card or payment directly to a school, vendor, or service provider. The average grant is around $100.

Support may include clothing or shoes, school supplies, a basic cell phone, sports or extracurricular needs, and other specific personal items that can support a young person’s well-being, confidence, participation, or safety.

Please note that there are eligibility and request limitations, including one child per family and one specific item or need per request.

Learn more and find the request form on their website.

Awareness is a start. Action creates change.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, choose your #1 Thing: learn the signs, challenge harmful beliefs, support a survivor, share a trusted resource, or advocate for safer communities.

Every action matters. Together, our choices can help build a future rooted in safety, dignity, and respect.

Words shape how young people are seen -- and treated.

Here are a few commonly used terms so you can speak with greater accuracy, care, and respect.

Young people are more than a case, charge, or system label. Center their dignity, experiences, strengths, and capacity for growth in every conversation.

Mental health is health. 💙

This World Mental Health Day, let’s make space for honest conversations, check in with the young people in our lives, and remind them that asking for support is a sign of strength.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), a time to raise awareness about domestic violence, uplift survivors, and strengthen our commitment to creating safer communities. 💜

This year’s theme, “With Survivors, Always,” reminds us that supporting survivors is not limited to a moment or a month. It means standing alongside them through advocacy, resources, safety, and action.

As survivors and their children continue to face barriers to safety and support, DVAM calls on all of us to learn, speak out, and help build a future where every survivor is heard, believed, and supported.
