Eckerd Connects' Family Services assisted client LA with moving into her home and creating a stable environment for herself and her children. One of her personal goals was to be able to sit down and share dinner with her children at the table a few nights each week, something that was very important to her as she focused on strengthening family connection and creating positive routines within the household. Another goal of hers was to make the house feel like a home for her family and move beyond simply living in survival mode.

To help support her goals, Eckerd Connects purchased a dining room set for client LA. This assistance provided more than just furniture. It helped create a warm and welcoming space where the family could come together, share meals, and build meaningful memories. Client LA expressed sincere appreciation for the support and shared that having a dining table in her home helped make the house feel more like a home and gave her encouragement as she continued working toward long-term stability for herself and her children.

Transportation Access

Do you or does someone you know need a ride to a food pantry, doctor appointment, job interview, court hearing or one time to work during a car repair? and ask about Lyft rides, which are temporarily available through a partnership with United Way Worldwide. No guarantees until ride is approved, but more details:
•Rides must be scheduled at least 48 hours and no more than one week in advance.
•Callers who meet initial eligibility will be referred to our scheduler, who works weekdays only. Return calls will be made only to clients who likely will qualify.
•There is cost cap per ride so Brevard’s geography means some distances may be too far.
•If you are uncertain whether your need for ride would be allowed under the partnership, call and ask.

Through the support and assistance provided by Eckerd Connects, SP was able to secure safe and stable housing while addressing financial barriers that had previously impacted their ability to maintain stability. With individualized case management and ongoing support, SP began rebuilding independence, confidence, and a foundation for future success. 💪🏡

Today, SP is living in a stable environment and continues to make meaningful progress toward personal and professional goals. This week, our Supportive Supervised Visitation team was on the move! ✈️

Visitation Supervisor Sheryl Edwards and Family Services Director Talia Bryant had the opportunity to attend the Supervised Visitation Network Conference in beautiful New Orleans.

The week was filled with valuable learning, meaningful connections, and conversations with amazing professionals from across the country who are passionate about strengthening families and supporting safe parent-child relationships.

Of course, they also enjoyed some great food and the vibrant culture of the city along the way! 🍽️✨

They are headed back to Florida with a wealth of knowledge, fresh ideas, and renewed inspiration to continue serving the families in our community with excellence. 💙

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone as Deanna graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology of Child Development! 💙

Deanna serves as a dedicated transporter for our visitation program, and her compassion, commitment, and heart for children and families shine through in everything she does. We are so proud of her hard work, perseverance, and achievement!

Her visitation team had the opportunity to surprise her with a graduation celebration and it was such a special moment to honor all that she has accomplished. 🎉
