is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. On January 13, 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority was founded by 22 collegiate women at Howard University. These students wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and to provide assistance to persons in need. Th

e first public act performed by the Founders involved their participation in the Women’s Suffrage March in Washington, D. Today it has more than 350,000 members and 1,060 chapters in the United States, Germany, Korea, Japan, Virgin Islands and Africa. The sorority provides community service nationally and locally around its Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness & Involvement, Physical & Mental Health and Political Awareness & Involvement.

In partnership with Making a Difference in Our Community, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization,  we are pleased to announce our Skilled Trades & Technical Excellence Scholarship Application. This is a ONE-TIME $1,000 Scholarship Award designed to support individuals pursuing careers in skilled trades or technical fields, including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, cosmetology, culinary arts, welding, automotive technology, and other workforce-driven programs.
