is a private, non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. On January 13, 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority was founded by 22 collegiate women at Howard University. These students wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and to provide assistance to persons in need. The first public act performed by the Founders involved their participation in the Women’s Suffrage March in Washington, D. Today it has more than 350,000 members and 1,060 chapters in the United States, Germany, Korea, Japan, Virgin Islands and Africa. The sorority provides community service nationally and locally around its Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness & Involvement, Physical & Mental Health and Political Awareness & Involvement.

The Deltas of Brevard showed up and showed out in the fight against breast cancer! Together, we raised over $5,500, earning recognition as one of the top fundraising teams! 🎉

Today, we walked with purpose, celebrated our survivors, honored those we’ve lost, and stood in solidarity with everyone impacted by breast cancer.

We also proudly wore pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, standing together in support of survivors, honoring those we’ve lost, and encouraging early detection. 🎀💕
