Work zones create safety challenges when normal traffic patterns are altered. One possible solution is to use orange pavement markings as temporary guides for drivers to indicate lane shifts or closures. The Federal Highway Administration is reviewing the research to decide if the agency will grant interim approval. October is Pedestrian Safety Month. Most pedestrian fatalities happen at night when visibility is lower for both drivers and pedestrians. Stay safer with these simple tips:

🦺 Wear reflective gear or carry a flashlight to make yourself more visible.
💡 Walk in well-lit areas.
🚶 Stay on sidewalks and cross at designated crosswalks.
❌ Avoid distractions, such as headphones or mobile devices, and stay aware of your surroundings.
