Also featured is a group show of paintings "Drawn to Monhegan: Seven Responses".

Join our bird walks as local experts take us to their favorite spring bird hotspots along the coast of Maine. "Bird Time on the Coast" is open to all bird watching abilities from beginners to advanced.

Registration is required to participate. A donation to support the Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge is suggested. All 14 trips fill up quickly so register early!

A c.1875 image from a stereo-view of the Captain Israel Snow house located at 9 Water Street. Captain Snow purchased the house in 1861 from Archibald Spaulding and founded the Snow Shipyard on Mechanic Street in the South End. He had seven sons and two daughters. All of his sons were involved at the shipyard at one time or another. Several generations of the Snow family were born in the house which is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Today it’s home to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Services - Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge.
