Trekkers

Trekkers Cultivating the inherent strengths of young people. Long-term Mentoring + Experiential Learning Visit trekkers.org for more information.

For over 25 years, Trekkers has provided mentoring and experiential learning opportunities to students in midcoast Maine. Trekkers is a 6-year journey that includes a myriad of outdoor and travel-based experiences where students engage in outdoor adventure and challenges, consensus decision-making, community service, cross-cultural opportunities, and receive guidance as they plan for life after hi

gh school. Research has shown that Trekkers programs help students raise aspirations, resilience, and improve relationships with peers and adults.

"I'm more comfortable being myself. And I am not afraid to speak up."

One of our students shared this in a recent post-expedition survey, and it's exactly the kind of confidence and growth we hope every Trekkers experience during their journey with us.

Today is International Charity Day, and moments like this are only possible because of the people who believe in what we do. If you'd like to help more students find their voice, consider making a gift today. Link in bio to donate.

Another season of expeditions is in the books, and we're looking forward to what's next! Thank you to everyone who camped, journaled, and shared laughs (and moments of vulnerability) alongside us this year. We feel so lucky to be part of this community.

We've got some exciting things happening this year, and we can't wait to share it all with you. Cheers to year 33 of Trekkers!

We're feeling grateful!

Between our Spring Appeal and Pass the Torch campaign, students, families, alumni, volunteers, and supporters came together to raise more than $6,720 to help fund next year's programs.

Every donation represents someone saying, "I believe every young person deserves the chance to explore their strengths, build confidence, and find their path."

Thank you to everyone who chose to invest in the growth, resilience, and potential of young people. Your support fuels the mentorship and experiences that help challenge our students to grow, expand their sense of themselves and the world, and connect them to peers, mentors and the community around them.

We're celebrating this progress today and grateful as we continue raising the resources needed to do and grow in our work as the end of Program Year #32 comes into view.

Thank you for being part of the Trekkers community. We're so glad you're on this journey with us!
