Our Story

Nationally, and internationally, climate change based water insecurity is becoming more of threat to the people of the world each day. According to the Government Accountability Office, over half of the States will experience a water shortage in 10 years. In the last 50 years, the United Nations has identified over 35 conflicts that were caused by transboundary water rights. Saudi Arabia has been buying US water rights and at the same time US intelligence agencies have reported that water is a major source of instability and conflict. As climate change heats the world, water security is becoming one of the most dangerous threats to our safety and prosperity.

After witnessing first hand the impact of such insecurity has in a transnational conflict, Alex Cornell du Houx turned his attentions to the links between conflict, climate change and water security. Working to educate the public on the dangers that water security (or a lack thereof) can bring, Alex and the team at Code Blue use a value-based communication style in their videos while also training lawmakers and community leaders so that they may continue on a similar path. Ultimately, Code Blue will produce a documentary highlighting the dangers of water insecurity caused by climate change and the innovative solutions happening worldwide.
