Many thanks to Marvi Ali, the President of our Satellite Club of the Rotary Club of Richmond, and the Friends of the James River for coordinating this fun and productive way to celebrate Earth Day! Cat and Becca from FORJRP educated and led our club members about the hazards of invasive species. They then proceeded to search and remove these plants to prevent further spread in the park. Participants included Marvi Ali, Erin Kelleher, Pam Kelleher, Stephen Kindermann, Terrill Thorne, Barham Nardo, Paul Neumann, Warren Aldrich and Stephan Edemobi. They then went on to celebrate the victory against invasive species at O'Tooles in Forest Hill. Fun was had by all (except for the errant plants)!

Many thanks to Capital Trees for organizing the planting of over 8500 tree seedlings in Short Pump to help grow a new forest next to the Nuckols Farm Elementary School. This new forest will only take between 5-10 years and will help provide habitat for native wildlife as well as help cool the area within a 1/2 mile radius. We had 8 Rotarians from our main and satellite club help plant hundreds of seedlings in just 2 hours including Warren Aldrich, Paul Neumann, Paul Nardo, Barham Nardo, Katie Hellebush, Michela Worthington, Anna and Carlos Diaz.
