Diversity Richmond Diversity Richmond envisions a community where LGBTQ+ people are treated with respect and dignity,

Since its inception, Diversity Richmond has distributed more than $1,000,000 to area non-profit organizations that use these funds to strengthen the LGBTQ+ and Greater Richmond community. In addition to supporting our community financially, Diversity Richmond is a collaborator, convening groups with similar aspirations to effect social change and encourage acceptance.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the tragedy at Pulse Nightclub.

Diversity Richmond and VA Pride remember the 49 lives taken, the survivors, the families, and the communities forever changed by that day. Pulse was more than a nightclub. It was a sanctuary. A place of joy, belonging, and community.

Ten years later, we honor those we lost not only through remembrance, but through our commitment to creating spaces and experiences where LGBTQ people can live openly, safely, and authentically.

Let us never forget them. Let us continue the work. And let us always choose love over hate.

Today, on the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, Diversity Richmond stands in solidarity with LGBTQ+ communities here in Richmond and around the world.

We honor the courage, resilience, and joy of those who continue to live authentically in the face of discrimination and hate. Everyone deserves to feel safe, valued, respected, and celebrated — regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

As we recognize this day, we recommit ourselves to building a more inclusive community where love, dignity, and equality are not up for debate.

Together, we can create spaces where everyone belongs.

Diversity Richmond is pleased to announce the appointment of Tiera M. Craig as its next Executive Director, beginning July 1, 2026.

Tiera brings more than 15 years of leadership experience across the federal government and nonprofit sectors, with deep expertise in organizational strategy, people leadership, and community-centered program development. She is known for building systems that strengthen teams, deepen impact, and center accountability, equity, and care in her leadership. A military veteran and longtime advocate within the LGBTQ+ community, Tiera is also the Founder and CEO of What in the L?!, a national platform uplifting LGBTQ+ women through storytelling, leadership development, and cultural programming.

In addition to her professional work, Tiera has been a member of Kappa Xi Omega Sorority, Inc. since 2016, where she has held national leadership roles including National Vice President and currently serves as National Social Action Director. Through this work, she has led initiatives focused on civic engagement, advocacy, and community impact, further demonstrating her commitment to collective leadership and social change.

The organization also extends its deep gratitude to Reverend Dr. Lacette Cross for her leadership over the past three years and her continued stewardship during this transition.
“As I complete my time as Executive Director in June and close this chapter of leadership, I do so with deep gratitude for this community and all we have built together through seasons of growth and change. I am hopeful for what lies ahead and warmly welcome Tiera Craig into this next season of leadership for Diversity Richmond.”
— Reverend Dr. Lacette Cross

Additional opportunities to connect with Tiera and learn more about the organization’s next chapter will be shared in the coming weeks.
