What an incredible opening day for the Los Trompos exhibit at Short Pump Town Center! The vibrant colors, interactive installations, and contagious energy transformed the space into a gathering place where families, friends, and visitors of all ages came together to experience the joy of art and culture.

The VAHCC was honored to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony and help welcome this beautiful celebration of creativity, heritage, and community.

Los Trompos, an interactive art installation created by acclaimed Mexican designers Héctor Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena of Esrawe + Cadena, features larger-than-life spinning tops crafted with vibrant, traditionally woven fabrics. This participative work transforms the Main Plaza into a dynamic space where visitors can touch, spin, and interact with the sculptures, bringing art to life through play and collaboration.

The installation offers families and individuals a distinctive opportunity to unwind, engage creatively, and form lasting memories in a colorful, joyful environment.

The official ribbon cutting and launch event will take place tomorrow, Saturday, June 13, at 11:00 a.m. in the Main Plaza. The celebration will include complimentary crafts, entertainment, food, and family activities.

Los Trompos will remain on public display through July 12 and is entirely free to enjoy; no tickets are required.

The Richmond community is cordially invited to participate in this special cultural experience at Short Pump Town Center, 11800 West Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23233.
