When our project manager, Brandon, brought the JJD Heart Foundation 3H Hub project to the table, we knew it was a project we had to be apart of.

We partnered with Ryan Ruffin Enterprises and Evonik to aid in bringing this organization's dream to life.

Fast forward to today where our ED, Malcolm, and Brandon watched as Karen and her son, Justin, cut the ribbon on Ettrick Park's newest edition. Before she cut the ribbon, Karen told a story about her son and the family finding out he had a heart defect. She emphasized that through changing his diet he was able to get back to his normal life.

We were honored to be apart of such a crucial need in the community.

Yesterday, as part of Rebuilding Together Richmond’s Fall Fix-Up Day of Service, volunteers from Evonik rolled up their sleeves to help put the finishing touches on the Justin J. Davis Heart Foundation’s Ettrick 3H Hub!

Thanks to the support of our corporate partners, RT RVA covered the cost of labor and materials for a local Ettrick contractor to install drywall and flooring, setting the stage for Evonik volunteers to paint, install shelving, build a small ramp and handrails, lay pavers, and install gutters and a security system.

One of several Fall Fix-Up projects across the Tri-Cities, this effort helps bring the Foundation’s vision to life: a community fridge and blessing box providing neighbors with food and everyday essentials.

We’re grateful to Evonik for their time and talents and proud to play a part in this community-driven effort!

Rebuilding Together Richmond is repairing eight homes on Pocahontas Island in Petersburg at no cost to residents, with a focus on safety.

We didn't just have projects on Pocahontas Island today. Evonik North America worked with the Justin J. Davis Heart Foundation to bring their vision of a new community fridge and blessing box to the Chesterfield community.

After speaking with one of the leaders the organization, we learned that this will be their second fridge. Having the volunteers help them build this new fridge for a new community is a blessing to the organization.

Genesis Properties has been hard at work on Ms. Mason's home. A new coat of red paint, fresh flowers to complete her landscaping, a new storm door, and a porch refresh.

They just revealed the final product to her, and she started to cry. She told us that the reason she didnt come to hang with the team to see the work is because she's "a bucket of water with things like this."

The team was overjoyed to see her reaction, and her and her daughter next door are beyond grateful for the work the teams completed.

Dominion Energy is finishing up work at Mr. Jones' house. During a walk through with him, we heard him say, "I wish I could say more than thank you."

Like a few of our volunteer teams, Dominion Energy has volunteered with us for years and we're amazed by what they do for our homeowners each time.

Mr. James also joked about winning the lottery and making sure the Dominion volunteers were his first call.

Lots of football talk as the Capital One team replaced boards on a wheelchair ramp of one of the homes were working on today. (A friendly NFC East rivalry) A bit later you'll learn more about why this project was so special to the team.
