Meet Savannah, one of our amazing Forensic Nurse Examiners known for her empathy, compassion, and dedication to supporting patients during some of their most vulnerable moments.

Savannah’s passion for forensic nursing shines through in the care and support she provides every day, and we are so grateful to have her as part of the Violence Response Team. 💜

Every other week we’ll continue highlighting members of our Violence Response Team and the meaningful work they do to support patients in our community.

The work we do can be heavy, but one of the greatest gifts of this team is the genuine love, support, and friendships we’ve built along the way. 💜

From dinners and celebrations to retreats, birthdays, coffee runs, and checking in on one another after hard shifts, these moments matter. They remind us that behind every role is a human being who also needs support, laughter, and community.

Every day, we intentionally work on strengthening the bonds within our team because strong relationships, trust, and support for one another help us better support the survivors and communities we serve.

The bond our team shares outside of work helps strengthen the work we do within it, and we are incredibly grateful for that. 💜🫂

Happy EMS Week to all of the incredible EMTs, paramedics, dispatchers, and all emergency medical professionals who show up every single day ready to help others during some of life’s hardest moments. 🚑💜

Your quick thinking, compassion, calm presence, and dedication do not go unnoticed. Thank you for the empathy, kindness, and quality care you provide to every patient you encounter.

The Violence Response Team especially wants to thank the EMS professionals who care for and support survivors with patience, dignity, and compassion during vulnerable moments. Your work truly makes a difference far beyond the scene. 💜

Have you ever seen a forensic nurse or victim advocate carrying around a doll head and wondered why? 👀

Meet Clarice. 💗

Clarice helps support strangulation re-enactments during forensic exams by allowing patients to visually demonstrate hand placement and body positioning when explaining what happened may be difficult.

These tools can be especially helpful for pediatric patients and adults with communication or cognitive difficulties.

At the Violence Response Team, we are committed to compassionate, patient-centered care for every survivor.

Looking back at moments from last year’s Violence Response Team Gala as we prepare for this year’s Guardians of Hope Gala. ✨💜

Each year, this event brings together advocates, healthcare professionals, community leaders, supporters, and survivors for an evening centered on hope, healing, advocacy, and the work being done to support those impacted by violence in our community. All proceeds from the Gala go towards the VRT and our patients.

We are so excited for this years Gala on October 24, 2026, and can’t wait to share another unforgettable night with all of you. Check out the link in our bio for more info and tickets!

Every year the Violence Response Team holds a Team Retreat focused on team-building, self-care, constructive feedback, staff growth, and strengthening the work we do together. 💜

At this year’s retreat, we decided to prank our Director & Advocate Manager with a little “Anything But a Cup” challenge… Violence Response Team edition. 😂☕️🥾🥖

Safe to say the creativity did not disappoint. Moments like these remind us that even in heavy work, laughter, connection, and community matter too. ✨
