Join us on Saturday, October 28 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Bon Secours Violence Response Team! Funds raised through this event will support the Bon Secours Violence Response Team (formerly Forensic Nursing Program). The Violence Response Team forensic nurses and advocates provide care for children and adults who have experienced sexual assault, physical assault, strangulation, or hum

an trafficking. They are leaders in the healthcare needs of victims of violence, including identifying and documenting injuries, evidence collection, case management and safety planning. In addition to serving as a liaison to community partners such as law enforcement, and victim services, the forensic nurses provide crucial expert witness testimony in court and ongoing community education and awareness.

📚 Introducing the Violence Response Team Book Club!

A new community outreach opportunity bringing together VRT staff, donors, committee members, and supporters to explore books that touch on themes related to our work, including advocacy, relationships, trauma, resilience, and healing. 💜

Our first book is Take My Hand by Dolen Perkins-Valdez, with a focus on patient advocacy, trust, compassion, consent, informed decision-making, and ensuring our patients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their care. 🤍
