Cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, at any time. CPR and AED use isn’t just for first responders and medical professionals. During cardiac arrest, every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces a person’s chance of survival by about 7% to 10%. When CPR and an AED is used within the first few minutes of collapse, survival rates can double or even triple.
