A little fog couldn’t keep us away from the fun at Run Club! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Four Sports Backers staff members joined us at Bon Air Elementary Wednesday morning to meet the coaches, get to know the kids, and join Bon Air’s young runners for a few laps!

A special shoutout to Head Coach Angela Rosas | Life & Fitness Coach for coordinating such an amazing group of young runners and creating a space where kids can stay active, build confidence, and have fun through movement. We loved getting to see the energy and enthusiasm firsthand!

From Hanover’s Kersey Creek Elementary to Powhatan Elementary, kids are getting moving this fall! These clubs are in different school districts, held on different days of the week, and operate at different times of day - one before school and one after. But they definitely have a lot in common:
1. They are both using Marathon Kids to track their miles. We love this FREE resource!
2. They are both being led by new volunteer coaches, who stepped up to make sure their school’s run club continued this year.
3. They are both gearing up to participate in the Twilight 1-Miler at the CarMax Tacky Light Run.
4. They are both giving kids an opportunity to be a part of a team, develop a fitness routine, and learn life-long lessons.
We are so grateful to the coaches who make it all happen. You probably don’t hear it enough but we see you, we appreciate you, and we know these clubs wouldn’t happen without your selfless efforts. Thank you!!

Early mornings and chilly temps won’t stop the kids of J.L. Francis Run Club from getting their workout in! 🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏽

We stopped by to see this amazing crew putting in the work as they gear up for their Annual J.L Francis Elementary Turkey Trot on November 21st and the CarMax Tacky Light Run & Twilight 1-Mile on December 12th! From sprints to pacing laps, these runners are building their endurance and getting ready to crush their upcoming races. 💪

We love seeing these kids show up, stay active, and put in the work no matter the weather! ❤️

He's also got some very special shout outs at the end so be sure to listen all the way through. We appreciate you Coach - thank you for all that you do to get kids moving and bring joy to their lives!

From our longest-running club to our newest! 💙💚

This fall, we got to visit two awesome Kids On The Move clubs: Dupont Elementary, our longest-running club (shoutout to Coach JP for keeping it going! 🙌), and Walnut Hill Elementary, our newest club (shoutout to Arlene Giles Cary for getting it up and running! 🏃‍♀️🌟).

We love seeing the impact of KOTM across our communities and getting to cheer on our incredible kids and coaches!

A big thank you to the John Randolph Foundation for supporting our work in this community! 💚 Your support helps us get more kids moving and brings us one step closer to building a healthier, more active community for all!

That’s a wrap for our Fall RPS Middle School Track Clinic! 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️

We welcomed 125 student-athletes from 6 RPS middle schools for a day of learning, building skills, and celebrating the sport of track and field!

Hosted in partnership with RPS_ATHLETICS_RVA , PonyExpress RVA , and Shood , this clinic brought together a community of coaches and partners committed to helping RVA’s young athletes! From Shood fitting and providing every single athlete with a pair of running shoes to the Pony Express Track Club leading a discussion to help the middle school coaches hone their skills while the kids worked on theirs, this clinic had it all.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible and to all the athletes and coaches who showed up ready to learn and give it their all! We can’t wait to see what these young athletes accomplish! 💙🤍

From early morning laps at Flat Rock Elementary in Powhatan to a timed mile after school at Twin Hickory Elementary in Henrico, kids across the #804 are moving!! And none of it would be possible without the tireless dedication of the volunteer coaches who make it all happen. A special shout out to Ashby Smith, the parent who leads the club at Flat Rock, and Mary Kaye Steed, the teacher who co-leads the club at Twin Hickory. We got to celebrate MK’s birthday at the club yesterday because, even on her special day, she’s out there coaching the kids. We can’t wait to see these kiddos toe the line at the Twilight 1 Miler this December! They sure are trained and ready to race!

This morning, we stopped by Marguerite Christian Elementary School’s Run Club, and the energy was unmatched!

Head Coach Brooke Moseley has been leading this club for years, creating a space where kids can move, challenge themselves, and have fun together. It’s no surprise that Brooke was named our 2025 Kids On The Move Volunteer Coach of the Year! 🏆 Thank you, Brooke, for the time, energy, and heart you pour into your runners!

This year, the club is using the FREE Marathon Kids Connect app to track mileage throughout the season, giving students a fun way to see their progress, celebrate their accomplishments, and watch those miles add up!

We loved seeing the excitement these kids bring to this early morning club, their enthusiasm for being active, and their willingness to show up, try their best, and cheer each other on. 💚

Here’s to another great season of running, growing, and moving together at MCES!
