📢 Calling all Prince Edward County parents! Looking for hands-on, engaging programs for your kids afterschool? We've got an exciting lineup of 4-H youth programs ready to go. Additional options should be coming available soon.

🚌 Afterschool Convenience: Prince Edward and Fuqua school buses (or parents of course) can drop your child off directly at the Extension Office!

Here is what we have coming up:

🌲 Outdoor Living Skills Program (Afterschool)
Hands-on learning, wilderness safety, and practical skills for the outdoors.

🌱 Young Naturalist Program (Afterschool)
Perfect for curious minds eager to explore local wildlife, ecosystems, and nature conservation.

🚴 High Bridge State Park Program (Afterschool)
An amazing collection of programs offered from our High Bridge State Park Rangers!

🌙 Prince Edward 4-H Teen Club (Evening Program)
Looking for something for older youth? Our Teen Club focuses on leadership, community service, and life skills. Please note: This is an evening program, not an afterschool drop-off program.

Registration is now open for Afterschool Programming open to all Prince Edward youth!

There is still room available for all options!

All current afterschool options are available on Tuesdays or Wednesdays starting in October with more options likely coming available soon. Participants can be dropped off at 3:30 at the Extension Office (100 Dominion Dr) or they can be dropped off by bus from school.

Participants will need to be picked up between 5:00 and 5:15.

We are excited to announce that our Afterschool Programs are back this year! A huge thank you goes to Prince Edward Public Schools for once again allowing bus drop-off at the Extension Office which makes this all possible! This is open to all youth in Prince Edward County!

Current options include Outdoor Living Skills, Youth Naturalist Program, Floral Design, High Bridge State Park Program, and our Prince Edward 4-H Teen Club. There is sure to be more to come as well!

There is still room left for our 4-H Summer Camp from June 22nd to the 26th!

You must first register and be approved in 4HOnline at https://v2.4honline.com/ BEFORE registering for 4-H Camp.

The last day to request financial assistance is this Friday, 5/15/2026.

As a reminder:

4-H Camp is for youth who will turn nine on or before September 30, 2026. Campers are ages 8-14, depending on their birth date.

Youth who turn 14 during the 2026 calendar year may attend in either a camper or a counselor-in-training (CIT) role. CITs receive training before attending camp and are in a transition year. They still attend classes and participate in other activities but also assume additional non-supervisory leadership responsibilities.

Prince Edward 4-H Earth Day Plant-A-Tree Event

In celebration of Earth Day, Prince Edward 4-H is offering free trees and educational material for the youth and their families of Prince Edward County! Please register by completing the form at the link above.

You will be able to pick up your trees and materials from the Extension Office (100 Dominion Dr, Farmville VA 22901) on Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22nd from 2:30 to 5:30. If a time is needed outside of this for pick-up, please get in touch to make other arrangements. Email: [email protected]
