Join us for tomorrow's ALA Academy Live webinar! 🌟 Discover how your ALA unit can turn the Wreaths Across America mission of REMEMBER, HONOR, and TEACH into meaningful local action. This webinar will explore the ALA-WAA partnership, Sponsorship Group options, cemetery and wreath-laying opportunities, fundraising tools and submission methods, and year-round programs such as the TEACH Program and Mobile Education Exhibit.

Learning objectives:
▪️Explain the Wreaths Across America mission and the history of its partnership with the American Legion Auxiliary.
▪️Identify multiple ways ALA units can participate in Wreaths Across America at the local level and throughout the year.
▪️Describe the Sponsorship Group Program, including available plan options and the process for submitting wreath sponsorships.
▪️Apply WAA fundraising, outreach, and customized promotional resources to increase community participation and wreath sponsorships.
▪️Identify opportunities to support or coordinate a participating cemetery and engage in National Wreaths Across America Day.

More than 81,000 Americans remain missing from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, the Gulf War and other conflicts. The American Legion remains committed to achieving a full accounting of all U.S. servicemembers from all war eras who are either imprisoned or listed as missing in action.

As part of this commitment, the Legion encourages a return of living POWs, repatriation of the remains of the fallen from war zones abroad, or a determination through convincing evidence that neither is possible. This is further backed through Resolution 22: https://archive.legion.org/node/533.

In recognition of The American Legion's 90th birthday in 2009, the Senate and House of Representatives passed a resolution designating Sept. 16 as .

⁠The measure was shepherded through the Senate by then-Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, who praised the Legion for its continued aid to wounded veterans and military families, legacy of community volunteerism and significant role in establishing important national legislation.
