WHAT IS THE IFSP-FUNDING PROGRAM?
The IFSP-Funding Program helps individuals on Virginia's DD Waivers Waiting List to pay for items and services they need.

WHO CAN APPLY?
To be eligible to apply, the applicant must:
• Be on the DD Waivers Waiting List, and
• Live in their own home or with their family.
• If the person is under 18, a family member must submit the application.
• If the person is over 18 and needs help, a family member who lives with them must submit the application.

HOW MUCH CAN YOU APPLY FOR?
The amount depends on your priority status on the DD Waivers Waiting List.
• Applicants with a priority 1 Waitlist status may apply for up to $1,000.
• Applicants with a priority 2 Waitlist status may apply for up to $500.
• Applicants with a priority 3 Waitlist status may apply for up to $500.

WHEN CAN YOU APPLY?
The Funding Portal opens every year in October. When the Portal opens, you'll have 30 days to apply and make edits any time before the deadline!

This year, you can apply on Thursday, October 1, 2025 at 9 a.m. through Friday, October 30, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

Funds support items and services that help you:

While many people associate Medicaid strictly with basic doctor visits and hospital stays, Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers and specialized Medicaid programs offer extensive, lesser-known benefits tailored specifically for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).

Food, Nutrition & Wellness (Value-Added MCO Perks)
Many Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) offer extra "value-added" non-medical perks, such as:

Post-Discharge Meal Delivery: Tailored, home-delivered meals following a hospital or facility stay.

Over-the-Counter (OTC) Allowance: Monthly or quarterly stipends for non-prescription health and hygiene items (toothpaste, first-aid kits, vitamins, sensory items).

Fitness Memberships: Free or discounted access to local gyms, YMCAs, or virtual fitness programs.
