As of January 31, 2026 (Day 98), the Walk for Peace is moving through Virginia, traveling from Dewitt toward Petersburg along Boydton Plank Road. The Buddhist monks, accompanied by "Aloka the Peace Dog," are continuing their 2,300-mile pilgrimage from Texas to Washington, D.C., to promote peace and compassion.

Updates: Daily progress, including lunch and night stops, is posted on the Walk for Peace page.
Route: The monks are advancing toward Washington, D.C., despite cold weather and winter conditions.
Key Details

Purpose: A 120+ day, 2,300-mile walk from Texas to D.C. focused on mindfulness, compassion, and unity.

Schedule: Generally, lunch stops occur around 10:30 a.m.–1 p.m., with evening, stops between 6 p.m.–9 p.m..

Please wear winter clothes. It will be extremely cold and meetings with the monks will happen outside of hotel building
